NBA Season-Long

Overview

Pick6 is a peer-to-peer Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) contest variant offered by DraftKings. Build a lineup, also known as your “Pick Set”, by choosing 2 or more players (3 or more in CO) and selecting whether you believe they will outperform their regular season stat projections. Compete in contests against other users’ Pick Sets and win prizes by making the required number of correct picks.

The entries you compete against are determined by the number of picks you decide to make in your Pick Set (your “Pick Level”). Your Pick Set will only compete against entries of the same Pick Level. The pool of available athletes and their associated stat projections is called a “Pick Group”.

Available Pick Stats

For all available stats, any pick that finishes with a total equal to the projection line will be graded as correct for selections of MORE and wrong for selections of LESS.

Stat counts are determined by official third-party stat providers of DraftKings.

  • NBA SZN projections are based on stat averages and not totals

Minimum Play Requirements

For Pick6 NBA Season-Long contests, the player must record at least one (1) second of official play time on the floor in twenty (20) regular-season games to meet the minimum play requirements.

  • If a player is traded or plays for multiple teams during the regular season, all eligible appearances will count toward this requirement. As long as the player records at least one second of official play time on the floor in twenty (20) or more games combined across all teams, their pick remains eligible for scoring.

    • Example: If a player appears in 14 games for Team A and is traded, then plays 6 more games for Team B, they still meet the 20-game minimum play requirement, and their stats for the season across both teams will still count towards their season average.

If a player does not meet the minimum play requirements by the last game of the regular season, all picks associated with that player will be scored as VOID, regardless of selecting “More” or “Less” for the pick.

If a Pick Set has one or more void picks and the outcomes of the remaining non-void picks results in the lineup finishing in an existing payout tier at the lower pick level, the lineup will receive the minimum guaranteed payout in the sport, pick level, and payout tier of the non-void picks, in cash, less any other cash winnings. If a Pick Set has all but one void pick the player will get back their entry fee in cash.

Scoring and Payouts

DraftKings’ official scoring validation process for NBA Season-Long entries begins after the conclusion of the last game of the regular season. This process ensures that DraftKings scoring matches official stat providers before contest results are finalized and paid out.

Once contests are finalized, a Pick Set status will change to “Completed”, and the Pick Set will move from the Live tab to the Recent tab on the My Picks page.

On occasion, official scorers may issue a stat-correction after events have ended and the official scoring validation process has completed. These corrections are rare, but can occur days after an event is completed. Therefore, any changes to official scoring that occur after contests have been finalized will not impact those finalized contests. Conversely, if a correction needs to be made after contests are finalized due to a bug with the data feed or the finalization process, while extremely rare, the finalization process (including payment) may be reversed and redone correctly.

Pick stats and their more/less outcomes are intended to align with official results at the time of Pick6 payouts, independent of contest payout timing for other DFS formats in the same sport and involving the same events. While rare, it is possible for a final stat amount on Pick6 to differ with other DFS formats based on when contests from each format were finalized and paid out.

Note: The official scoring validation process is solely to ensure that DraftKings contest results are determined based on official scoring. Delays during this process may occur as a result of data collection or other technical difficulties.

  • Weekly updates will be provided showing each player’s progress toward their projection in your Live pick set.

    • Picks will not update in real-time. Stat averages and progress bars are refreshed manually

  • All player stat projections for NBA Season-Long are displayed to one decimal place for visibility. However, all scoring calculations are performed using two decimal places, rounded to the nearest hundredth. This ensures consistent and accurate point totals across all entries.

    • Examples:

      • A player stat of 10.124 will be rounded down to 10.12 for scoring purposes.

      • A player stat of 10.125 will be rounded up to 10.13 for scoring purposes.

  • If a player is traded or changes teams during the regular season, their stats across all teams they play for will count toward their season-long average projection.

Special Payouts Cases

A Prize Tier is defined as the amount of picks correct and the resulting award for an entry finishing with that number of correct picks. For example, a Prize Tier in a contest could award $500 split among all entries that got 6/6 picks correct and $200 split among all entries that got 5/6 picks correct.

What Happens if No One Finishes in a Prize Tier?

If no entry meets the requirements for an individual Prize Tier posted within a contest, DraftKings will award that tier's prizes to the highest (most picks correct) Prizing Tier. If no entries finish in any posted Prize Tiers, entries with the highest number of correct picks in that contest will be declared the winners and awarded an equal share of the contest’s guaranteed prize pool. In the event no entry has a single correct selection, no winner can be declared and DraftKings will refund all entry fees.

Example Scenarios for When No Entries Qualify for a Prize Tier

The table below explains what course of action DraftKings will take in the event that 0 entries qualify for a posted Prize Tier. The example contest is a 6-Pick Level contest with the following prize structure:

  • $500 split among all entries with 6/6 picks correct.
  • $200 split among all entries with 5/6 picks correct.
  • $100 split among all entries with 4/6 picks correct.
  • Entries with 0/6, 1/6, 2/6, or 3/6 picks do not win a prize.

All scenarios assume the non-mentioned payout tiers have at least one qualifying entry. For example, “No entries with 6/6 correct” assumes there are entries that got 5/6 and 4/6 correct.

Scenario

Outcome

No entries with 6/6 correct

The $500 for 6/6 correct is awarded to the entries with 5/6 correct ($700 new total prize value for 5/6).

No entries with 5/6 correct

The $200 for 5/6 correct is awarded to the entries with 6/6 correct ($700 new total prize value for 6/6).

No entries with 4/6 correct

The $100 for 4/6 correct is awarded to the entries with 6/6 correct ($600 new total prize value for 6/6).

No entries with 6/6 correct and no entries with 5/6 correct

The combined $700 for 6/6 and 5/6 correct is awarded to the entries with 4/6 correct ($800 new total prize value for 4/6).

No entries with 6/6 correct and no entries with 4/6 correct

The combined $600 for 6/6 and 4/6 correct is awarded to the entries with 5 ⁄ 6 correct ($800 new total prize value for 5/6).

No entries with 5/6 correct and no entries with 4/6 correct

The combined $300 for 5/6 and 4/6 correct is awarded to the entries with 6/6 correct ($800 new total prize value for 6/6).

All entries have 3/6 or fewer correct

The combined $800 for 6/6, 5/6, and 4/6 correct is awarded to the entries with the highest number of correct entries. (e.g., 3/6 correct;if no entries with 3/6 correct , then 2/6 correct, etc.).

In the case of a contest in which all entries get 0 picks correct, regardless of Pick Level, all entry fees are returned back to players.

Is It Possible for an Entry with Fewer Correct Picks to Win More than an Entry with More Correct Picks?

On occasion, more entries could finish in a higher Prize Tier compared to the one below it. For example, many more entries getting 6/6 picks correct than 5/6 picks correct. This can lead to the per-entry prizing amount for getting 5/6 correct being higher than the per-entry prizing amount for 6/6 entries because entries within a Prize Tier split the prize.

If an entry in a lower Prize Tier is awarded a higher per-entry prizing amount than an entry from a higher Prize Tier, DraftKings will manually credit entries in the higher Prize Tier the difference between the higher prize awarded to winners in the lower Prize Tier and the prize awarded to winners in the higher Prize Tier. This credit may occur after contest payouts.

Example for Credits When a Lower Tier Makes More Per Entry Than a Higher One

In this example, assume a 6-pick Pick6 contest awards $500 in prizes split among all entries that got 6/6 picks correct. The Prize Tier below it awards $200 in prizes split among all entries that got 5/6 picks correct.

If 100 entries in the contest got 6/6 correct, that $500 payout would award $5 for each of those entries ($500 / 100 entries = $5 per entry). If only 25 entries got 5/6 correct in the same contest, that Prize Tier’s $200 payout would award $8 for each of those entries ($200 / 25 entries = $8 per entry).

Because entries in the 5/6 Prize Tier earned more than the entries in the 6/6 Prize Tier, DraftKings will manually credit each player with entries that got 6/6 picks correct $3 per entry (the actual per entry difference between the 6/6 and 5/6 Prize Tiers). There is no change to the prizing for entries that finished in the 5/6 Prize Tier.

Pick Set Requirements

Eligible Pick6 Pick Sets must contain players representing at least two different teams. Once a player is selected, they cannot be selected again for a different pick in the same Pick Set. For example, an NBA Season-Long player can be picked for Points Per Game OR Rebounds Per Game, but not both.

If a player in your submitted Pick Set is traded or changes teams before or during the contest, and this results in your Pick Set containing players from only one team, your entry will be invalidated and refunded.

Example: You submit a Pick Set with LeBron James (Lakers – Assists Per Game) and Donovan Mitchell (Cavaliers – Points Per Game). If LeBron is later traded back to the Cavaliers during the regular season, both players would now be on the same team. Since Pick Sets must include players from at least two different teams, your entry would no longer be valid and would be refunded.

Player Pool

Stat average projections can change after they have been posted. The projections at the time you submit your Pick Set are the projections your picks will be scored against.

DraftKings reserves the right to add or remove picks to a Pick Group at its discretion after the initial group of picks has been published.

Pick Groups will only contain athletes from one sport. In other words, as an example, it is not possible to have an NFL pick and an NBA SZN pick in the same Pick Set. Picks must be made within the same Pick Group. The Pick Group is a particular set of games and available picks. To change Pick Groups, there is a filter on the Home pick experience.

Pick Set Edits

Pick Sets may not be edited after they’ve been submitted.

In the rare case that a tip-off starts earlier than scheduled, or if its start time changes, DraftKings will take measures to ensure that the affected picks are disabled accordingly. Picks for games already in progress will not be available to include in a Pick Set at the time of submission.

The projection lines available at the time of Pick Set submission will be locked for scoring, even if a player’s projection changes before the overall contest lock.

Canceled, Postponed, and Rescheduled Games

For NBA Season-Long Pick6 entries, player stat averages are based on the full regular season (Games 1-82). The regular season itself acts as a single scoring window, and no individual games are removed or swapped from the competition.

If an individual NBA game is canceled, and a player does not participate in at least twenty (20) total regular-season games, any associated pick will be marked as VOID.

Season-Long picks will not be regraded or adjusted based on minor stat corrections or individual game changes, unless a cancellation prevents the player from meeting the 20-game minimum.

DraftKings will not reconfigure or cancel Season-Long contests due to individual game cancellations, postponements, or reschedules—unless every player in an entry becomes ineligible for scoring.

Suspended or Shortened Games

If an NBA game is suspended or shortened, stats accrued before the suspension will count toward Season-Long averages as long as the player participated and the game occurred during the regular season.

If a player appears in the game before it is suspended, that game will count toward their minimum play requirement.

If the game does not resume and the player does not meet the 20-game minimum by season end, the pick will be marked VOID.

No Season-Long entries will be refunded due to suspended games unless every player pick in the lineup fails to meet the 20-game threshold.
